TGB Teacher Named Arizona Cardinals MVP in the Classroom

Please join us in congratulating Mr. Nick Halonen from Trevor Browne High School. He was recently recognized as an Arizona Cardinals MVP in the Classroom. He was a special guest at the Cardinals-Lions game on September 8. The Arizona Cardinals presented him with tickets and sideline passes for him and 3 of his guests. They also presented him with a Cardinals jersey and a $500 gift card.

Mr. Halonen was nominated by TGB Choir senior Alexia (Lexi) Valenzuela. Lexi is a leader in the TGB Choir program. Apart from clubs and extracurricular activities, Lexi is enrolled in multiple AP and honors classes and is carrying a weighted GPA of 4.0. Lexi is excited to pursue a career as a forensic psychologist. When asked why Lexi nominated Mr. Halonen, she stated, “I nominated Mr. Halonen because before I came into choir, there wasn’t a place where I truly felt like I belonged. He made me feel like it was okay to be myself. Even when I struggled with the material, he encouraged me to keep trying and improving. I continue to learn not only things about music, but I take away life lessons that will stick with me even after I graduate. I finally have a place where I belong.”
