Choir Success at Festival

Over the weekend Mixed Choir traveled to Flagstaff to participate in the NAU Jazz & Madrigal Festival. The festival welcomed 152 choirs from the Southwest at 6 performance venues over 2 days making it one of the largest festivals in the country. Our kids performed very well. They were wonderful students when working with Dr. Sandra Snow (Michigan State University) as well as evaluating performances from various high schools throughout the state. Most importantly, our kids demonstrated that they were great people. They were kind and courteous in their interactions with each other as well as others that we came in contact with. I even think their hotel rooms were cleaner after they left than when they arrived.

Our students worked very hard in their preparation for this festival. Many hours were put in outside of the school day for them to achieve at their highest level. We are very excited that they were rewarded for the effort with a Superior rating (the highest rating given at this festival).

We also want to say a huge thank you to our TGB staff. Whether though tax credit donations, purchasing fundraising items, or providing additional academic support to help students maintain their grades many of you have gone above and beyond to help our singers. From both of us, thank you.

Congratulations Mixed Choir on a very successful trip.
