On Sunday, Oct 13 members from North High School FBLA and Maryvale's Be A Leader arrived early at North and Maryvale to arrive by 5:30 am and assist at the Tour de Scottsdale event held at DC Ranch. Students helped with snack stations, water stations, and handed out medals to the cyclists as they rode in the finish line. The event benefited the McDowell Sonoran Desert. One of North's Math teachers Mr. Joseph Prevost participated in the 30-mile race and stopped to say hi and photo op with our members.
On Tuesday, Oct 22nd 26 North’s Future Business Leaders of America Chapter partnered for the 3rd year with Chick-Fil-A Leader Academy. As part of North's FBLA Kickoff, members helped pack 10 care kits, made 10 Paracord Survival Bracelets along with writing over 40 letters to our troops overseas. These care kits will be sent to Operation Gratitude warehouse in California where they will be placed in large care packages before they are sent out to the troops stationed overseas. Members also were provided two Chick-Fil-A gift cards, one thanking each for their participation and one to give to someone that has made a difference in their lives. Attached is a picture of senior member Jacob Rivera Martinez with Dr. Renata Geurtz. Chick-Fil-A Leader Academy is a national high school leadership program focused on impact through action.
