Kenia Ramirez attended the All-State Band Festival and performed on Flute. She was the only representative from the Phoenix Union High School District for both Band and Orchestra this year (that's how hard it is to get in!), and she represented our school and district with honor!
ADDITIONALLY, she was awarded a one-time $1,000.00 scholarship from the Arizona Band and Orchestra Director's Association (ABODA) for going into the Music Education field at Arizona State University! She submitted an application and went through an interview process at the festival, and was ultimately chosen as one of the two scholarship recipients this year. ADDITIONALLY, the President of the ABODA organization made it a point to come up to her after the festival and said that she was one of the strongest applicants this year, and really appreciated her asking some specific questions to the interview board about the music education field. He also said, "I look forward to working with you in the future."
If you see Kenia Ramirez, please congratulate her on this outstanding achievement and honor! She has definitely brought some serious clout to our school and district as a whole for Music Education this past weekend! And a huge thank you to all of her teachers past and present at North for preparing her as an outstanding and well-spoken representative for our scholastic organization! And obviously, congrats to her for putting in the work and earning this honor this weekend!!
