Two Phoenix Union Teachers were honored in the first month of the Arizona Diamondbacks’ Most Valuable Teacher program. Camelback’s own Jennifer Manlick was one of them, earning $1,000 for classroom supplies during a pre-game ceremony and then got to stay for the Diamondbacks-Cubs game, April 26. Manlick teaches environmental science. Ten Most Valuable Teachers are selected each month, and at the end of the season, one teacher will receive an additional $5,000. Because the program is sponsored by Papa John’s, each teacher also gets a pizza party for their class.
