Metro Tech To Host Annual Community Celebration

Metro’s Annual Fall Garden Festival and Community Celebration, “Educating for a Greener World,” will be Saturday, October 20.  Presented by Metro Tech High School and Maricopa County Master Gardener’s is geared towards local community and garden lovers who are interested in learning new techniques for gardening, and to have a fun family-oriented time.  The Festival offers garden speakers on garden topics, garden-related vendors and local garden clubs, plant sales, a rummage sale, children’s area, drawing prizes/silent auction and food.  Attendance is free.  In keeping with its sustainability efforts, one of the goals of the event is to bring together community members to exchange ideas and to share research-based information; on how to enhance quality of our community’s life by conserving water and resources, reducing landfill waste, responsible use of chemical products, and teaching the benefits of hands-on growing of vegetables, fruits and flowers.
