Camelback and its GEARS (Game Design, Engineering, Architecture, Robotics and Sustainability) program hosted the statewide rollout of the Real World Design Challenge, September 13. It is the first year that the contest has come to Arizona. The Real World Design Challenge provides high school students the opportunity to work on real-world engineering challenges in a team environment. Solutions are submitted in January, and one team from each participating state moves on to the national event in Washington, D.C. in March. This year there are two challenges- one in aerospace and one in civil design.
