24 Alhambra Students are Helping to Register Voters

Twenty-four Alhambra students are volunteering hundreds of hours helping to register Arizonans to vote in the upcoming election.  They registered over 400 people to vote September 1.    These students were recognized by the Campaign For Arizona’s Future.  They were given an award recognizing them for going above and beyond in volunteer recruitment.   U.S. Government teacher Christopher Oglesby has helped organize the students, which also includes a visit by

Paul Penzone, candidate for Maricopa County Sheriff.   He visited the students   September 11.  He talked about the importance of community involvement; ways to get civically involved; and some of the issues he feels are important to address should he win the election.   In the interest of fairness, Oglesby also will have Republican candidates visiting the class as well.
