Former student Rudy Calderon (Class of 2007 Valedictorian) has quite a ride since graduating from high school.  After a year studying abroad in Taipei, Taiwan as an exchange student with Rotary International, he went to the ASU Barrett Honors College, where he is working on degrees in Global Studies and Mandarin Chinese.  He is scheduled to graduate in the Spring of 2013.  At Barrett, he has also received scholarships to participate in the college’s study abroad programs to China and Peru.  He also served as a delegate to the Rotary International Convention in London in 2009, and then toured Europe on behalf of Rotary, meeting young Rotarians.  Calderon would like to pursue graduate degrees in international relations and global affairs and  he hopes to be an international diplomat for the United States, and work with an international organization.  His brother is following in his footsteps.  Jorge Calderon won a Gates Millennium Scholarship, was valedictorian at Metro Tech in 2011 and is currently in the Barrett Honors College at ASU.
