Principal Dr. Zack Muñoz has been selected to serve on the International Baccalaureate (IB) Americas Regional Council.  He is one of 13 individuals and five from the United States representing schools or organizations in North America, Central America and South America.  Muñoz has worked with IB while at North High School, and brought the prestigious academic program to Betty Fairfax last year.  The council is involved in strategic planning, issues that impact the outreach and effectiveness of IB, developing connections with important constituents and marketing.  The Regional Council’s purpose, according to IB, is to strengthen the capacity of the regional office to promote access to an IB education and increase the acceptance of the IB diploma at universities in the region.  The Americas Council is one of three regional councils.  There is also an Asia Pacific region and Africa, Europe and the Middle East region.
