Zaria Cheatham has been awarded a full scholarship to the 2012 Telluride Association Sophomore Seminar (TASS) at Indiana University.  This six-week-long educational program is centered around a college-level seminar for gifted and highly motivated high school sophomores.  This year’s theme is “Don’t Believe the Hype: Facing Cultural Misinformation about African Americans with Historical and Legal Truths.”  Among the requirements, Cheatham had to complete a five-essay application and receive a personal interview by the Telluride Association board.  The TASS Scholars enjoy free tuition, room and board and books at the seminar. Telluride Association is an independent not-for- profit educational organization which has offered summer programs to high school juniors of exceptional promise since 1954.
