Valarie Villalobos and Edward Garcia placed in the national top 10 in the Entrepreneurship Promotional Project event at the DECA International Career and Development Conference on April 27- May 2 in Salt Lake City, Utah, where over 16,000 students from throughout the world attended.   The team of Villalobos and Garcia’s   30-page written event started with the vision of volunteer and entrepreneurial advocate Scott McIntosh

“Mr. McIntosh spent hours at Camelback High this school year by spreading the word on our campus about entrepreneurship; creating an Entrepreneurship Club, bringing actual entrepreneurs in from the school’s Social Venture Partners to teach a six-week program about entrepreneurship in six of our Camelback classrooms, starting an after school Junior Achievement Program and offering $12,000 worth of scholarships to senior and junior students who completed a socially-conscious business plan,” Marketing teacher and DECA advisor Julia Bourdo said.

The other Camelback students that attended the International DECA conference were Aaron Doering in the International Entrepreneurship Project; Talisa Gallegos and Martin Corona  in the Hospitality Research Event; Jamar Pinnock, Francisco Navarrete, and Antuan Woods  in the Sports Entertainment Research Event.
