The Stampede Robotics Team competed in the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) World Championships in St Louis, April 25-28.  Winners of the Las Vegas Regional that earned the team a trip to the event, Fairfax was ranked as high as 11th in the qualifying rounds, and finished 33rd out of 100 teams.

“This is a huge success for our team being able to compete at this level with the top teams in the world, Coach Michael Gard said.  “Being ranked in the top one-third of all teams on our field shows we had a strong, consistent robot and a strong team.  The students did an outstanding job all weekend interacting with the other teams and during the judging interviews.  We have a very young successful team and they are already looking forward to continued future success.”

The students also had the chance to visit with many corporations and over 40 colleges that help provide college scholarships.
