North High will field a robot in the upcoming FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Arizona Regional Robotics competition at Chandler Hamilton High School, March 22-24, but the team couldn’t do it alone.  The 15 students have partnered with two Arizona State University science professors, John Olson and Cayle Lisenbee, who are mentors.  John Doherty, a math teacher and club sponsor for the North Robotics didn’t think the team would compete this year, but anonymous donors gave the $6000 needed to enter the event.
