South Mountain: The Ice Cold Souljah won 1st place May 6

The South Mountain step team did it again, winning another national competition.   The squad, known as the Ice Cold Souljah’s, placed 1st, May 6, at the National Step Up or Step Aside   show in Corona, California.  It is the step team’s fourth national title.

There are 24 members, seven of whom are graduating seniors-- Isaiah Pitts, Jazmin Rodriguez, Ricardo Perez, Montell Lewis, Jasmin Duran, Keylondrian Allen and Teviyahn Goodwyn. Walker.    The step team started at South Mountain in August, 2007 under the direction of head coach Marvlyn Jones, community liaison and assistant coach Denesha Hardson, student liaison.  Safiyyah Johnson, an ESS teacher, is the sponsor.
