Betty Fairfax: Most Success of any Phoenix Union School at the State Track and Field Championships

Betty Fairfax had the most success of any Phoenix Union school at the State Track and Field Championships, May 6 at Mesa College.   The Stampede Boys and Girls each finished ninth in their divisions.  Only two other schools in Division II, North Canyon and Chaparral, placed both boys and girls squads in the Top 10.

 

Shamar Moreland won the Boys Division II 300 meter hurdles (40.35 seconds) and the long jump (23-9).  He also finished 3rd in the 110 meter hurdles.  Fairfax’ Ma’Kayla Dickerson placed 2nd in the 300 meter hurdles, 2nd in the 200 meters and 4th in the 100 meter hurdles. 

 

The Fairfax Boys finished 9th out of 43 Division II teams, while the Fairfax Girls and the South Mountain Girls tied for 9th out of 33 teams.
