Cesar Chaves: Daniel Rubio has gone full circle in Educational and Athletic Career

Daniel Rubio has gone full circle in his educational and athletic career.  The new varsity wrestling coach is a Chavez alumnus, and wrestled for the Champions from 2001-2005.  He went on to Grand Canyon where he wrestled from 2007-2011.  Rubio started volunteer coaching at his alma mater in 2010 and has worked his way up to head coach.  He is also an Exceptional Student teacher at the school.  His squad is off to a good start, with a 3-0 record against East Valley schools and the Champions finished 2nd out of 28 teams at the Jerry Benson Wrestling Tournament at Buckeye Union High School, December 2-3.  Six athletes placed, including first place winners Davon Galindo and Jacob LambertRobert Dominguez and Erik Orozco placed third.
