Camelback HS Has Female Student of the Year Recognized at the Convocation

Camelback also had the Female Student of the Year recognized at the Convocation--Helena Silva Nichols. She was a Gates Millennium Scholar, a National Merit Commended student, a National Hispanic Recognition Scholars and a Hispanic Heritage Gold Youth Award winner in Innovation and Technology. This summer, she was awarded a $100,000 Ronald McDonald House HACER scholarship. A Valedictorian with a 4.89 GPA, she was a neuro-oncology intern at Barrow Neurological Institute and wants to continue in the field of neuroscience. She is already at Stanford University taking summer classes, but her mother, Monica Nichols, is a teacher at Bioscience accepted the the award for her daughter.
