PUHSD Students Work with Internationally Known Master Photographers

Posted by Community Relations on 5/20/2015

Seven photography students of Judith Mariahazy were at the opening reception of the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art Visions exhibit. There are six participating schools, including Phoenix Union schools South Mountain and Alhambra. These students have been working with nationally and internationally-known master photographers at monthly workshops to create this exhibit. Each student made a brief statement to the public about the work that they created.
This was Central’s 22nd year participating in this program, and the last for retiring traditional photography teacher Mariahazy.  But a former student of hers, Cecily Cano (now Mrs. Cecily Frutos), is replacing Mariahazy and has been invited to continue with Visions.  She was a Visions participant while she was at Central.
