Trevor Browne's Jocelyn Mendoza Participates in the Sonia Kovalevsky Mathematics Day at ASU West

Jocelyn Mendoza, an AP Calculus student, participated in the Sonia Kovalevsky Mathematics Day at ASU West, March 28. This is a celebration of Sonia Kovalevsky, a Russian, who was the first women to get a Phd. In Mathematics. Mensdoza, the only Phoenix Union student in the event, was selected among many girls who attempted the test to participate in the competition. She took second place in her group, winning a medal, a book, two t-shirts and a Maple software package for math.
