Bioscience Spanish National Honor Society Takes First Place in ASU Language Fair

The Bioscience Spanish National Honor Society had its best year yet at the ASU Language Fair, March 4, in performances. Each year the society creates a new play and enters it in the competition. This year the students won 1st place for their play "Elise en la tierra de Juaja,” combining the stories of Alice in Wonderland and a Spanish story, La tierra de juaga. The students were Jasmine Abril, Bandon Duenas, Dulce Gariepy, Luis Gutierrez, Galen Hawkins, Jessica Melero, Khang Nguyen, Jesse Rodriguez, Marianna Wann, and William Witmer. Freshmen Danny Arias, Alberto Jimenez, Kevin Hernandez, and Cesar Smokowski also won 1st place for the Poster Competition on Masks. Sharon Leskie is Bioscience’s Spanish instructor.
