Bioscience will host an Hour-Of-Code event, Friday, February 27 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. for 50 Phoenix Union and middle school students. The Hour of Code is organized by the nonprofit Code.org for students ready to learn critical skills for 21st century success. The Hour of Code is similar to the Code Day that was held in Phoenix and 25 other cities, February 14-15. Seventy-five Phoenix Union students participated in Code Day. Students passionate about technology worked from noon, Saturday until noon, Sunday, forming teams, building apps and games, and winning prizes for the best projects. Because of the Phoenix Union students, Phoenix is #3 in the nation for participants, and #1 for the percentage of minority participants.
