Aspiring Principal/Assistant Principal Program Developing Future Leaders
Posted by Community Relations on 1/28/2015
Developing future leaders for the District is the goal of a new Aspiring Principal/Assistant Principal program, which began January 20. Eight assistant principals make up the Aspiring Principal cadre, and 19 teachers are in the Aspiring Assistant Principal group. The groups will meet for six sessions, and almost 40 hours this semester, covering different aspects of the jobs, such as teaching leadership, personnel, operations, stakeholder leadership and personal leadership taught by current administrators. The half-day workshops will be accompanied by shadowing and mentoring, book studies and final presentations. Participants were recommended by current principals, and selected by the District Leadership Team.
