Eleven Metro Tech High School students are involved in the Hospice of the Valley Teens in Nursing program. This volunteer program provides a valuable experience to high school students interested in pursuing a career in nursing. The students must complete nine hours of training from Hospice of the Valley at Phoenix College, attend eight monthly meetings at Phoenix College and serve at least four hours a week at a Hospice of the Valley facility. The students had to submit recommendation letters and interview with Hospice of the Valley.

The seniors that are participating in the Teens in Nursing program are Metro Tech students Karyna Rojas, Stephanie Calixto, Vanessa Ruiz,  Jesusita Espinosa, Basma Idris, Dustin Truong, Maria Valle, Diego Valdez  from Trevor Browne, Guadalupe Carbajal  from Cesar Chavez, Alicia Gutierrez from Carl Hayden and Marilyn Mayca from North.
