Amanda Delphy Named High School Student of the Year at the Arizona American Indian Excellence in Leadership Awards Ceremony

Amanda Delphy was named High School Student of the Year at the Arizona American Indian Excellence in Leadership Awards ceremony, November 4. Delphy, of the Pueblo of Acoma, has a 3.9 grade point average, is a member of the National Honor Society, president of the Choir club, a counselor for a school camp that focuses on eliminating prejudice and stereotyping, and is a member of the Native American Youth Council. She has given presentations on Native American stereotyping to several audiences. Delphy wants to become a teacher. She has volunteered at several schools.
