Over 350 choir students from Phoenix Union High Schools and Phoenix Elementary School District took part in the Greater Phoenix Music Festival, October 25 at Phoenix College.

The students auditioned in September, and were divided into ensembles based on their ability level. The Phoenix Union students were divided into three choirs, and 100 Phoenix Elementary students participated in a Junior High choir. They spent two days working with clinicians from ASU, private voice professors, and Phoenix Union educators, and then performed their repertoire for an audience of family and friends. Barbara Smith of Cesar Chavez  conducted the High School Festival Choir. There was also a High School Women’s Honor Choir and a High School Mixed Honor Choir. Christopher Hughes of Betty Fairfax conducted the Middle School Honor Choir.
