Trevor Browne Alumnus (Class of 2005) Kaleo Kina is out at sea as a Naval officer, but he received a letter recently stating he was selected to the Navy Athletic Hall of Fame for his accomplishments in basketball at the U.S. Naval Academy.  The Hall of Fame dates back to 1900, and includes such Navy legends as Roger Staubach-football, and David Robinson-basketball.  Kina last played for Navy in 2009, concluding a four-year career as one of the best in school history.  He led the Patriot League in scoring, was a first-team All-Patriot League, and was selected to the first team of the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABA) District 13 First Team.  He scored over 1,000 points in his career, and was the first in school history to have over 500 points, 100 rebounds and 100 assists in a season. Following his senior season, he won the David Robinson Award, given to the senior who did the most for the team over his playing career, and the team’s Most Outstanding Team Player Award.

Kina was an All-State player for Trevor Browne, leading the Bruins to a State Final Four appearance as a sophomore and a #1 ranking as a junior. He graduated in the top ten of his class. He was among a group of former athletes inducted into the first class Trevor Browne Sports Hall of Fame two years ago.
