Carl Hayden Robotics team competes at AUVSI RoboSub event

Carl Hayden’s Robotics team competed in the Association of Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) RoboSub event in San Diego July 28-August 3. The Falcons faced off against 39 other teams, most of which were universities from the U.S., Canada, India, China, Russia, Thailand, Japan, Sweden, Turkey, Egypt and Iceland. Hayden made it to the semi-finals with their autonomous underwater vehicle. (AUV) This is the fourth year the Falcons Robotics team has competed in the event, and last year was the first time they made it to the finals, finishing 8th.

“We had a great time and a great learning experience. We are learning a lot this year and intend to make a big splash next year,” Coach Fredi Lajvardi said. “We will begin designing a new AUV this year.”
