Cesar Chavez EPICS Team Awarded for Gaming for Education Proposal

Cesar Chavez EPICS Team was awarded 2nd place for their Gaming for Education Proposal and 3rd place for their Cool Bus Stop Proposal and by ASU's EPICS (Engineering Projects in Community Service) High School Program. Projects are scheduled to be implemented during the 2014-2015 school year. Students proposed to design a series of computer games to teach kids, 7-16, basic math principles. The project involves engineering design, human-centered design, and service learning. The Cool Bus Stop proposal could involve evaporative cooling for the summer months. The projects are in the brainstorming phase. The team will next research and create models, determine materials and workers for the projects.
