The Trevor Browne Lady Bruin Drill team is the top Unarmed Drill team in the state, taking the Unarmed Sweepstakes Trophy at the State Drill Team Championships at Alhambra High School, April 12.  There were 28 Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine teams that competed in Unarmed, Armed and Color Guard drills. Trevor Browne placed first in Unarmed Dual, third in four-person Unarmed and won the Sweepstakes Trophy for earning the most total points in all the Unarmed events.

Team members, led by captains Yoxira Roman, Kadi Moore, Diana Naranjo and Alexis McMahon, are Juanita Rivera, Vivian Rivera, Guadalupe Rivera, Jennifer Cabrera, Lililana Jaramillo, Valeria Medina and Leslie Morales.

“This year is a ‘Triple Crown Year’ for JROTC,” said Coach and Instructor First Sergeant Noah Tincher, citing Bruin titles in Adventure Team and Rifle competitions.  “Never has a school ever taken three state championships.  To get one State championship is great, two is amazing, three is phenomenal and it’s all because of the great kids we have here in JROTC.”
