Metro Tech Robotics Completed the FIRST Robotics Competition

The Metro Tech Robotics team, called the Knight Tech Robotics, finished their first competition season April 3-5 in Las Vegas for the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology)  Las Vegas Regional. The competition included some of the world’s best robotics teams. After two days of qualifying matches the Knight Techs placed 29th of the 50 teams competing. This placement entitled them to the Highest-Seeded Rookie Award. The Knight Tech’s were also awarded the Rookie Inspiration Award which celebrates a rookie team’s outstanding success in advancing respect and appreciation for engineering and engineers  within their school, as well as in their community. In addition to these awards the team created relationships with many other teams and learned a great deal about all aspects of FIRST, which  will help guide the team in planning their next season of competition.  Team members are Diana Estrada; Kzandra Zelaya; Jose Plascencia; Seefa Islam; Gloria Ariza; Ariana Lima; Jose Ramirez; Rudolph Ponce; Sahory Urbina, and Franklin Police & Fire students Joseluis Garcia and Juanjose Garcia.
