Two Metro Tech teams have qualified for the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Virtual Business Management Challenge and will be two of only 16 teams nationwide competing this summer at the FBLA National Leadership Conference.

The “Destroyers,” made up of Crystal Loza, Daniel Sanchez and Ivonne De la Trinidad placed in the top eight in the first round of competition, among 500 teams nationwide in October.  The “Tripe A’s,” of Alejandra Salinas, Adrian Partida and Aracely Lopez earned a spot in the nationals in the second round that was completed in February.

The Virtual Business Management Challenge is an Internet-based game that challenges students to use visual simulation software to manage a bicycle shop.  The program teaches students to analyze data and make sound, quick decisions to keep their business profitable.

Metro Tech had two Virtual Business Management teams at last summer’s FBLA National Competition, placing first and fifth.  In fact, one of the students, Edgar Robles, who placed fifth two years in a row in the contest, made the cover of the FBLA National Magazine Winter edition.  He is currently a fulltime student at Grand Canyon University, taking business classes.
