Franklin Students Giving Back for the Holidays

Posted by Community Relations Department on 12/18/2013

Franklin Police and Fire students will be giving back this holiday season to ensure that 30 Phoenix families can celebrate Christmas through a Phoenix Police project called “Operation Soul”. Sophomore Socorro Nieves organized her classmates at Franklin to donate toys, non-perishable food and blankets for the families.

After the presentation of “Operation Soul” December 4, Franklin students were treated to a special fly-over by a Phoenix Police helicopter as well as a meet and greet with officers from the Phoenix Police Special Assignments Unit and the K-9 unit. The officers brought out gear and three types of Special Assignment vehicles for the students to examine.

Donations can be dropped off at Franklin Police and Fire High School at 1645 W. McDowell Road and at police precincts around the city. These donations will be distributed by Angels on Patrol, a non-profit organization.
