Over 160 employees attended the annual Employee Appreciation and Awards Reception November 6 at Metro Tech, celebrating their five-year milestones of service, through June, 2013.  Dr. Kent Scribner, who passed out service pins, certificates and plaques, earned his five-year pin, as well.  This year there were three 35-year employees—Jesse Magdaleno, Trevor Browne Auto Tech teacher; James Wiley, Grounds Equipment Mechanic at DSF and Kent Franklin, retired librarian from Carl Hayden.  But the longest employed honoree was Audrey Brown, who was a cafeteria assistant for 41 years at Carl Hayden, before retiring after last school year.  Ms. Brown began in 1972, and saw eight of her children go through the school.  She was presented with a gift certificate for a premium room at the Arizona Biltmore  along with a meal for two at the resort.
