Jose Contreras, a junior in the school’s broadcast-journalism magnet has been invited to participate in the New England Center for Investigative Reporting high school workshop in Boston next summer.   Students invited to the workshop operate out of Boston University where they will learn the basics of investigative reporting.   They will work on investigative stories alongside award-winning journalists and the Boston University faculty to help sharpen their critical thinking and writing skills.  In addition to classroom instruction, students will be able to explore historical Boston, visit Fenway Park and attend a Red Sox game, the Museum of Fine Arts and explore the city’s famous Freedom Trail.

“Jose is an integral member of the Jaguar News staff.  He also has a passion for hard news and sports reporting,” broadcast journalism instructor Ron Keller said.
