The Spanish National Honor Society held its second Dia de los Muertos festival, November 1 and dedicated it to the 19 Granite Mountain Hotshot firefighters. There were poems read, alters constructed and clubs had different activities. The Science Technology club operated a small planetarium, the art club did face painting. Other activities included games such as Loteria, or Spanish bingo, and a ring-toss game called jeugo de arana.
You shouldn’t be sad on this day. This day is about bringing back the memories as if they are alive and celebrating their life,” student Amanda Trent said.
