A documentary film crew visited the Carl Hayden campus, September 19.  50 Eggs Films, an independent film production company was shooting scenes from the school and the robotics club.  They are doing a story on the students who beat MIT in an underwater robotics competition in 2004 that was featured in Wired Magazine, entitled La Vida Robot. The film crew is featuring the four former students -Cristian Arcega, Lorenzo Santillan, Luis Aranda and Oscar Vazquez, as well as Robotics coach Fredi Lajvardi.   Campus shots, including the robotics shop were filmed, and current robotics team members were interviewed.    The film company, led by writer/director Mary Mazzio, who was a former Olympic rower in 1992, prides itself on creating films that have social impact.

The exploits of the La Vida Robot Hayden team will also be featured in an upcoming motion picture, starring George Lopez.  Production begins in October and will be filmed in New Mexico.
