Bioscience Student Interning at Downtown Publication

Posted by Community Relations Department on 10/2/2013

Students at Bioscience have internships, but mostly they are in the medical, science and technology fields.   But Ruby Ramirez's internship is at the on-line publication, Downtown Devil. She pursued the placement last spring, convincing the staff there that taking on a high school intern would be a good idea. While many ASU Cronkite journalism students publish stories for the Downtown Devil, this is the first time it has brought on a high school student.   The staff put her to work a couple of weeks ago, and she already has published her first story, about how humor can be an effective form of therapy in health care.  Perhaps Ramirez’ Bioscience High School education is perfect for becoming a health or medical writer. Her story can be found at http://downtowndevil.com/2013/09/19/47784/david-jacobson-humor-therapy-project-humanities/
