Carl Hayden Demonstrates Emergency Procedures in Example Video

Over a year ago a consortium of school districts involved in emergency planning initiated a project to better prepare schools for “an active shooter scenario”. Specifically to provide a video demonstrating methods to react to a gunman that infiltrates a school (i.e., Sandy Hook). The video was filmed at Saguaro High School and is geared specifically for schools.  Phoenix Union, Washington Elementary, Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Cave Creek and Higley participated in the project, as well as several public safety agencies.   But when it came time to film on September 7, it was Carl Hayden that starred.  Teacher Trish Galindo brought 12 students from Hayden, doubling the number of student-actors on hand, enabling the film crew to videotape a full classroom.
