PUHSD Counselors Attended City of Phoenix Mayor's College and Career Readiness Summit

Counselors from across the District attended the City of Phoenix Mayor’s College and Career Readiness Summit at Phoenix College, September 18.      The National Office for School Counselor Advocacy (NOSCA) was there for a presentation of Best Practices for Implementing the NOSCA’s Eight Components of College and Career Readiness- Counseling with Equity.  The components build aspirations and social capital, offer enriching activities, foster rigorous academic preparation, encourage early college planning and guide students and families through the college admission and financial aid processes.   Superintendent Dr. Kent Scribner,  Mayor Greg Stanton and Dr. Steve Helfgot of Maricopa Community Colleges Foundation kicked off the event.
