Phoenix Union Participates in Department of Education Back to School Bus Tour

Phoenix Union played a part in the U.S. Department of Education’s Back to School Bus Tour in Arizona.  Superintendent Dr. Kent Scribner took part in a town hall, September 11 with Secretary of Education Arne Duncan and ASU President Dr. Michael Crow, discussing college affordability.  Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary Nadja Dabby visited Trevor Browne High School, September 12, and met with Phoenix Union social studies teachers who have participated in the Teaching American History grant that the federal government funded.  Dabby also participated in a public discussion earlier that day at the Phoenix Central Library, with PUHSD principals Kate McDonald, Metro Tech and Dr. Chad Gestson, Camelback, taking part.    Alhambra hosted Andrew Amore, Special Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Department of Education September 10.
