North student Alan Ponce competed on Telemundo’s La Voz Kids, a Spanish version of The Voice, and made it to the final three singers.  He appeared in elimination rounds during June and July. The final show aired July 28.

As with The Voice, each famous singer/coach has a “team” of six or seven kids who were selected from many contestants.  After each round, some contestants are selected to move on or are eliminated.  Ponce was selected to continue to the final selection to represent his/her team.    The final “winner” was picked from each of the three team’s winners.

“The fact that he was one of the three finalists is certainly an awesome feat and a testament to his wonderful talent,” North teacher Susan Campbell said.
