English teacher Kari Infantino and six students attended the 3rd Annual Día de Los Niños/Día de Los Libros Literacy Celebration hosted by the English Education Program in the Department of English at ASU.  This event was a celebration of children, culture, and language.  The guest speaker was Gary Soto, a famous Hispanic writer of adolescent fiction. There were mariachis, folklorico dancers, and guest poets. The students went to writing workshops as well and were given one of Soto’s books.
