Special Education teacher Gretchen Clifton won the Best Buddies Best Advisor of the Year in Arizona.  There are 35 members in the club.  The North chapter has done a Friendship Walk, a Best Buddies assembly, and many fundraisers.   Other advisors are Darren Schwartz and April Wynn.

Since 1995, Best Buddies High Schools has paired students with intellectual and developmental disabilities in one-to-one friendships with high school students. In the past, individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities have not had the opportunity to have friends outside of their own special education classroom.  There are 36 chapters in Arizona, including six Phoenix Union schools.
