Six freshmen have been accepted to Barrett Summer Scholars program at ASU: Jesus Alvarez; Juan Lainez Iscoa; Brian Sanchez; Victor Perez; Estebany Mejia and Esther Barrera. The selection  process for this program  is extremely competitive. The Barrett Summer Scholars program builds student capacity for enrollment and success at ASU for academically talented and motivated 7th, 8th and 9th grade students. The BSS residential program provides a unique opportunity for these students to experience residential life as well as engage in pursuing their intellectual curiosity while interacting with like-minded students who share their interests and abilities. Participants are enrolled in a variety of intensive-study courses, taught by ASU instructors, while covering subject matter not typically presented at their grade level. The students will attend the ninth-grade program,  June 9-21 at ASU Tempe.
