Central held its annual Diversity Week, April 15-19.  There were anti-bullying assemblies, and a lunchtime anti-bullying campaign, a multicultural assembly, mural project and dance celebration.  There were “peace on earth” speeches at the school’s peace pole, an international student panel, cultural expo, an Amazing Race obstacle course, with challenges to teach about different cultures.  Culture Night, featuring performances from the multicultural assembly and exchange student performances, capped off the week.  Questions were posed to Peer Leaders throughout the week, including whether they will stop running the Boston Marathon?  The answer- “No…we will not cave in to hate or violence.  Our resolve will grow… through our collective efforts…we will make our society more humane, more respectful, more compassionate.  Central will take the lead.
