Liana O’Conner and Alexa Tagaban participated in the SCENE (Southwest Center for Education in the Natural Environment) program this year at ASU. They worked with a professor and graduate students on developing nanotechnology in tattoos which can detect blood sugar levels in diabetics. They won first place in the chemistry division for their presentation at the AZSEF (Arizona Science and Engineering Fair), April 2 in Phoenix. Nadia Smith is their science teacher.
