South Mountain Radio Students Attend New York Conference

Nine advanced radio students and Communication Arts magnet teacher Ann Miles attended the Intercollegiate Broadcasting Service annual national conference in New York City March 1-2, and came home with two Golden Microphone awards, for Best Radio Station Website and Best Radio Station Podcast.  The students run KJAG AM 1640, and also offer their services for school dance and lunch deejays, morning announcements and emceeing campus events.   The students touted its partnerships with KJZZ, its youth radio project, SPOT 127, and Radio Phoenix, the state’s largest internet radio station, producing public service announcements for local organizations.
