Arizona Cardinals Kicker Visits Maryvale

Arizona Cardinals kicker Jay Feely was a special guest at Maryvale, February 6.  His visit was compliments of Verizon, after the school won a contest generating the most pledges to stop texting while driving.   Feely signed photographs to every student who took the pledge, donated an autographed Cardinal jersey, spoke to over 1,000 students about the dangers of texting, education, success and failure, and tossed and kicked Cardinal autographed balls into the grandstand.   The football theme was symbolic, as a vehicle can travel the length of a football field when a driver is distracted by a text for five seconds.

“The greatest think about being an athlete is to have the opportunity to have an impact.  I enjoy getting out and meeting people and promoting a good cause,” Feely said.
