Nice Students Rewarded at South Mountain

Nice people are rewarded at South Mountain.  The big winner for fall semester was senior Deshon Childers, who won a new bicycle as part of the Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program.  The program recognizes students for their positive contributions daily, and staff distributes JAG (Jaguar) cards to students who exhibit positive behaviors.  Students fill out the cards and turn them in for weekly incentive drawings and the semester prize.  Over 3,000 JAG cards were in the drawing.  The bike was displayed in a showcase in the main academic building all year.

“He was so excited, he wanted to ride it around in the hallways”, a classmate said.

Aerospace and aviation magnet teacher and program manager Sarah Nilsson also won a $50 gift certificate to the Citizen Public House restaurant.
